The Swiss Embassy at the Tolerance Centre
On the 25th June, the staff of the Swiss Embassy in Moscow underwent training at the Centre of Tolerance. In their two working languages of Russian and English, they were not only able to come to agreements within the group while solving various tasks, but also to discover a new flavour of inter-cultural communication. What to do, if you are sent as an ambassador to a country about which you know little more than the name? How to act if – who knows why? – you are deported from this country? On whom does it depend, how we interact with another culture or how we perceive it? Even if you have been involved in diplomatic work and international relations for many years, it is sometimes worth pausing to look inside yourself. And the staff members of the Swiss Embassy did just that, allowing them to deepen their understanding of inter-cultural communication to a new level.
The Tolerance Centre doesn’t only work with children, teenagers and young people. We are very happy to welcome adult groups to our training sessions, when composed of people willing to make a difference.
