Call for entries for the

VI Conference "Jewish Field Studies: Findings, Experiences and Conceptualisation"

is now open!

We are accepting applications for the VI International Conference "Jewish Field Studies: Findings, Experiences and Conceptualisation", organized by the Research Centre of the Jewish Museum and Tolerance Centre.

The sixth field conference will be focused on the various aspects of organizing and conducting field studies as well as on the work of researchers in contemporary Jewish communities.

Nowadays, researchers face new problems and challenges, such as ethical issues in the fieldwork, applied research outside the academy, research in the bordering regions, as well as managing work on the territory of foreign countries. We will continue to discuss the specifics of the "Jewish" field and introduce new research in Jewish anthropology, folkloristic, linguistics, sociology, epigraphy and archaeology. There will be a review of the 2023 season outcomes and a discussion on the prospects and plans for new research.

This year the conference expands its conceptual framework. We would like to talk about combination of archival and fieldwork methods, creation and use of both electronic and traditional archives.

Follow the link to complete the application. Applications deadline is 5 November 2023, acceptance confirmation - by 10 November 2023.

Attention: The Organising Committee covers accommodation and meals for non-resident and international participants, while travel expenses are considered individually.

The conference will be held on 22-23 November 2023 in a mixed offline and online format.
