Each and every culture has its own rhythm, that is reflected in its way of life. On this depend the speed at which people speak and go about their affairs, and many traditions and customs are connected with it. Rapid and leisurely, noisily and taciturnly, preference for solitude or company – each culture reflects its rhythm in folk dance, to be understood by anyone from any culture of the world, even if they don’t know the language. The format of the adventure-game for pupils of the first five years, now an established tradition at the Tolerance Centre, will be held every day from the 12th to the 16th of May, 2014. Participants will be able to get to know the folk dances of four peoples of the world, and attempt to understand these cultures by means of something that unites us all – music, joy in movement, and a single rhythm.
Event aims:
- To foster the formation of a tolerant world-view among scholars;
- To help schoolchildren build inter-cultural competence and interest;
- To aid the growth of erudition and knowledge among scholars about the cultural diversity of the peoples of the world.
