The “Volunteer School” Programme

Phase two

Educational training course for volunteers in secondary vocational education “Let’s Paint the World of Children in Happy Colours”

On the 17th and 19th of March 2014, the Tolerance Centre hosted the second phase of volunteer training “Let’s Paint the World of Children in Happy Colours.”

The meeting was focused on work with one of the volunteers’ main target groups – children.  The participants familiarised themselves with the main psychological peculiarities of this age group, the needs of children from foster homes and orphanages, as well as those attending kindergarten and in the first few years of school.  The main part of the seminar took the form of a games workshop and was devoted to the participants’ study of the use of a particular technique for volunteer work with children; “Games of the World.”

Games of the World is a collection of games and activities to prompt positive communication among children, harmonise relations, and influence the creation of a positive mood and a favourable environment within the children’s collective.

Training session objective:

To prepare the volunteers for work with children, including those working in children’s homes or with children undergoing hospital treatment, etc.
