June 12-30, the multimedia exhibition dedicated to the results of the pan-Russian I Draw Russia contest is held in the Jewish Museum and Tolerance Center. 64 works chosen by the experts of the Tolerance Center for the nomination Respect. Acceptance. Responsibility will be exhibited.
Our country unites different cultures, traditions and languages on one territory. Therefore the questions of acceptance of diversity, respect and responsibility in our multinational state are of high priority and very important in modern Russia.
The Jewish Museum and Tolerance Center had trust in establishing its own nomination – Respect. Acceptance. Responsibility in I Draw Russia contest. While selecting the works we paid particular attention to the way the young artists reflected the idea of peace, tolerance and social responsibility.
The contest itself is dedicated to the celebration of Russia Day established by the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation and is carried out by the Academy of Further Training and Professional Retraining of teachers in June 2015. Pupils of educational establishments of basic and additional education including handicapped children and children with limited possibilities from 6 to 23 participated in the contest.
The Tolerance Center chose one winner in each of the five age groups. The authors will get graphic tablets which will allow them to continue and develop their creative activities. All 64 nominees will get diplomas from the Tolerance Center of the Jewish Museum.
It was important for us to see how the idea of ethnic diversity and respect would be delivered by the participants with the help of their imagery. Their works reflect their vision of civil values of our country.
