News Winners of the research grants contest-2021 have been announced

The winners of the contest will comprise the museum’s research groups for 2021-2022. Below is a list of the winners and their projects:

  • Joshua Karlip (Yeshiva University, New York). Project: “Rabbis in the Land of Atheism: The Struggle to Save Judaism in the Soviet Union”;
  • Group of Researchers led by prof. Mikhail Chlenov (Moscow/St. Petersburg/Krasnodar). Project: “Comprehensive socio-anthropological study of the Mountain Jewish community of Pyatigorsk”;
  • Ekaterina Belkina (PhD student, Institute of Oriental Manuscripts, Russian Academy of Science, St. Petersburg). Project: “"Bukharan Collection": What Jewish manuscripts did V. Ivanov bring to St. Petersburg?”;
  • Group of Researchers led by Galina Zelenina (Moscow). Project: “Tetradi.online. Archive of ego-documents of Soviet Jews”;
  • Semyon Charny (Vaad Russia Archive, Moscow). Project: “The Six-Day War: Perception within the USSR”.
  • Mikhail Edelshtein (Moscow State University). Project: “"Autobiography of an Orthodox Christian Jew" by S. Zeichenstein: textual criticism, commentary, interpretation”.
