Thematic exhibitions held in the Russian State Library Branch at the Jewish Museum and Tolerance Center in Moscow aim to publicize Jewish books from Schneerson Collection as indispensable resource for scholars and a cultural treasure for general public. The collection remained uncataloged for several decades. Now when our cataloging work is well under way, we make fascinating discoveries and encounter unique books on daily basis, and we are eager to introduce these materials to the public. We seek to make book exhibitions accessible to a wide spectrum of visitors ranging from professional researchers to unprepared general public. Broad commentary about Jewish culture, history, rituals, etc. complements book exhibits, putting them into the larger context of Jewish civilization. Some supplementary materials are also translated to English, so exhibitions may accommodate international visitors. All exhibitions are curated by experts in Hebrew printing and Jewish history and held in cooperation with the Research Center at the Jewish Museum and Tolerance Center in Moscow .
