A socio-psychological game
Short description:
The first part of the game is designed to acquaint participants with the various strategies of behaviour in a conflict, and young people's research into their own style of conflict resolution. In the second part, the knowledge received is put into action in a roleplay game.
The storyline for the game is a fantasy realm – the Underworld, as described by the fantasy writer André Maurois. In this world, two states lie side by side – the Thinifer Republic, and the Kingdom of the Fattypuffs. The participants act out the roles of citizens of these two states, conducting negotiations on the division of an island territory, located midway between them.
Aims:
- Finding methods for positive interaction with 'others';
- Learning the skills for resolving conflict situations;
- Understanding the causes and mechanisms behind the emergence of negative stereotypes and prejudices;
- Revealing the process by which the 'image of the enemy' is formed, and connected phenomena;
- Developing social sensitivity;
- Developing communications skills.
Target groups: teenagers aged 13-16 years.
Duration: 3 hours.
