Short description:
An interactive discussion on attitudes towards socially vulnerable groups in society, based on the data of the “Social Opinion” Foundation.
The discussion is organised in the format of a social “casino”: the participants place bets, predicting the attitudes of Russian citizens to various socially vulnerable demographic groups. The predictions/bets are then compared with the real data collected in sociological research. The gamblers then are transformed into experts, suggesting how the data might change over time and what is needed for this to occur. The main aim of the discussion is to provide an answer to the question: “What can each of the participants do to change the situation for the better?”
Aims:
- The formation of a tolerant attitude towards socially vulnerable groups in society;
- Development of an active civil position;
- Guarding against stereotypes and prejudices.
Target group: schoolchildren from senior years, college and university students.
Timetable: Wednesdays at 16:00, and also available at other times when groups of 40 persons are arranged.
Duration: 2 hours
Attendance condition: Free of charge on prior booking.
