The Jewish Museum and Tolerance Center and the Publishing House «Kuchkovo Pole»
announce an open competition for academic research financing
within the framework of the program «Translation of academic publications in the field of history and culture of Russian Jews» in 2024
Program conditions:
- The amount of financing: up to 650 thousand rubles;
- Project implementation period: up to 1 year;
- Purpose: translation and publication of academic publications (monographs or collections of articles) in the field of Jewish studies;
- Participants: individuals (author, team of authors, other copyright holder, or scientific editor, translator), and legal entities (only if are ready to assist in obtaining translation rights from the copyright holder);
- We accept only monographs or collections of articles published no earlier than 2008 (if the text was published in 2007 or earlier, we require an additional expert justification);
- The publication must be written in English, French, Polish, German or Hebrew;
- Financing is provided to cover the costs of the translator's fee (up to 12,000 rubles per 1 author’s sheet), the fee to the scientific editor (up to 6,000 rubles per 1 author’s sheet), writing the preface and comments (up to 8,000 rubles per 1 author’s sheet).
Applications for participation are accepted until April 15, 2024 electronically in the Google forms format via the link. You can submit in both Russian and English.
Announcement of the results of the competition: May 15, 2024.
Expected results: a manuscript of a translation into Russian prepared for publication.
The applications of the participants will be evaluated by members of the Research Center’s expert committee, and the Director General of the Publishing House «Kuchkovo Pole» according to the criteria:
- relevance of the project for Jewish studies in Russian;
- academic and methodological readiness of the project;
- compliance of the declared financing with the project aims;
- the applicant's previous academic results.
