The Cinema Club is a kind of discussion club. The discussion unfolds around the documentary film watched at the start of the session, covering acute social topics: inter-ethnic relations in Russian society, attitudes towards socially vulnerable groups, civil and social responsibility. The discussion is led by Yelena Pogrebizhskaya – a director and screenwriter of documentary films, blogger, rock musician (founder of the group “Butch”), member of the Academy of Russian Television. She has been awarded the TEFI prize (2008, 2009), the “Laurel” (2008), and the “Stalker” prize (2013). Special guests at the Cinema Club are the heroes featuring in the documentary films, along with directors and specialists, to answer the questions of the audience.
