Aims:
- Forming inter-cultural competence and tolerant attitudes towards inter-ethnic differences
- Adopting the rules for interaction with other cultures
- Transforming perceived stereotypes
- Acquiring the skills involved in planning social work: evaluating the methods for attracting additional resources to realise a project; examining the prospects for the planned project's subsequent continuation
Target group: schoolchildren of the senior classes, students at colleges and universities, members of school and student councils. A permanent team of 10-15 persons is to take part in the Programme from each individual educational institution.
Duration: 2 hours
Short Description:
At the start of the session, the group takes part in activities geared towards coming to grips with the psychological mechanisms of inter-cultural communication. During the exercises, the participants undergo a transformational personal experience, leading to a rethinking of the distribution of responsibility for a civil and non-confrontational interaction between different cultures.
During their work on their own social projects, the participants have the opportunity to consider the future expansion of their project, planning the exploitation of additional resources and recruitment of support.
